Delegate, rhymes with celebrate!

25/11/2015

If you've managed to turn something you're good at (and enjoy) into a business, that's awesome!  Well done you.

If your business is growing and is successful, then not only do you deserve a high five, you also need to start thinking about taking some key steps towards becoming more efficient and effective.  Delegating doesn't mean handing over the reins and losing your grip over the business, its more about freeing you up to do the things you are best at.

Why not consider delegating some of these key areas:
  1. Accounting/Bookkeeping; ain't nobody got no time for sending out invoices and payroll, unless that's your actual job.
  2. Admin; if your diary management, emails, phone calls are taking up most of your day, you may just need a PA.
  3. Customer Service; face-to-face with clients is great, but not if it means you're neglecting more important tasks.
  4. Data Entry; a necessary evil if your business is succeeding, save it up (if you can) and then outsource!
  5. Marketing; whilst you do need to stay in the mix and participate in the overall strategy, find someone who can take care of the day-to-day stuff like ads, writing copy, website management etc.
  6. Packing and Shipping; your time may not be best served by stuffing boxes and licking envelopes, unless you treat it as stress relief.
  7. Production; even if your business is all about handmade products, you will eventually need to consider bringing a trusted team to help keep up with orders.
  8. Website; designing, updating, and general maintenance can be done by someone who knows what they're doing and enjoys doing it.
  9. Writing; even if you're brilliant at wrtiing, you may not have the time to sit down and let the creative juices flow. Get someone else to come up with the first draft, and then add your own spin.

If you're looking for someone to help with #'s 5, 8 and 9... you're in the right place!

Until next time...
