Review, Research and then recommend

2/6/2016

I'm ever so pleased to welcome a new client to the All Sorted family; Intuitive Birth is giving me the chance to learn about their business and come up with new ways to reach their target market.

It's only been a day but Sarah-Jane has already given me a whole bunch of information about what they've done to date, and where she sees her business going in future. I haven't been able to spend too much time on it yet, but I can already see some great opportunities to spread the Intuitive word. My main focus is trying to get some real bang for her buck.

As a mum I attended atenatal classes, so thankfully this isn't completely foreign to me, but I still need to do my research to ensure I get the language and audience right. I'm looking forward to it.

Until next time...

A Touch Of Whimsy

21/4/2016

Following on from my recent post, the client gave me what I was waiting for and I've been busy working on bits and pieces to help him and his wife start-up their new start up.

I'm taking care of the design & build of a website that will be super easy for them to manage and maintain themselves. They've chosen a logo concept which I was then able to turn into business cards, which should hopefully be with them as early as next week.

As part of the design & build of the site, I had to do a bit of research into the market they're about to enter. I checked out their NZ competitors and also some overseas companies. and I was surprised to see how clinical they all seemed. Given what they're selling (all will be revealed when they're ready to launch), I would have thought selling the dream as opposed to the pure mechanics of the thing.

So that's what I've tried to do with the copy; appeal to the whimsical and flight-of-fancy side of their target market. I mean, if you're Googling their product, you're already pre-disposed to forking out the cash and just doing it... all you might need to actually do it is for someone to give you a gentle push with some words of encouragement.

At least that's what I reckon.

Until next time...

Do's and Don'ts

21/10/2015

Anyone can market their own business online, but there are a few tips and tricks to get the best results:

  1. DO use the same language as your customers, i.e. if you're not using the same terminology to describe your product/service, they won't find it.
  2. DON'T just link to your homepage, take them to the exact product/service you're promoting.
  3. DO put your phone number or email on every page; make it as easy as possible for a customer to contact you.
  4. DON'T neglect the sign-up function! Regular communication with visitors/customers keeps you top-of-mind.
  5. DO remember to encourage people for "add on" purchases with phrases like "You Might Like..." or "Other Customers Also Bought..."

Until next time...
